CONSTRUCT · BUSINESS CARD COMPOSITION

Build the business card layout
before you style it.

Create a compact identity layout from proportional regions, typography and deliberate empty space instead of choosing a premade card template.

A small format makes every decision visible: what dominates, what supports, where the eye stops, and how much room the information needs.

The example is a composition starting point; verify final printer specifications separately.

01 · HIERARCHY

A card is small.
The hierarchy cannot be.

A business card often contains only a name, role and contact information, yet those elements still compete. Build the order before choosing decorative effects. The identity field should be recognized first; the information should be found without searching.

02 · THREE MOVES

Structure the information.

01

Reserve the identity field

Give the name or mark a dominant region.

02

Separate information

Keep role and contact details in a quieter field.

03

Add one signal

Use a small color or geometric counterweight instead of filling every surface.

03 · PROOF

A real Construct document.

BUSINESS CARD · STRUCTURAL IDENTITYText and regions remain editable

The black field, acid signal and information area are not pasted into an image. They are Construct regions with editable materials and a locked identity field.

04 · PRACTICAL LIMIT

Composition is not
prepress.

Construct helps decide proportion, hierarchy and placement. A professional print file may also require bleed, trim, safe margins, embedded fonts and a printer-specific color workflow. Those production checks remain separate.

Do not confuse a correct layout with a finished print specification.

The structure can be right while the production file still needs preparation.

05 · QUESTIONS

Before you send
the card.

Does Construct print business cards?

Construct creates the composition and exportable artwork. Confirm bleed, color profile and printer requirements in your final production workflow.

Is the example an exact 85 × 55 mm file?

The current proof uses a supported 3:2 working format. It demonstrates layout logic rather than claiming a universal print standard.

Can I edit the text?

Yes. The title and information fields remain editable text regions inside the Construct document.

Can I change the proportion?

Yes. You can move, replace or subdivide the underlying regions before exporting.

Start from proportion.
Then make it yours.
